Our staff are dedicated, passionate and determined. We are genuinely interested in preventing cancer deaths.
Dr Matilda Kerry (Founder and CEO)
Dr Matilda Kerry is the Founder of the George Kerry Life Foundation.
She is a community health doctor with a special interest in Women’s Health. Dr Kerry gained her Bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria also completing the Public Health and Health Promotion Course at the same institution in 2006.
She served as the Director of Communications to the National Cervical Cancer prevention Programme in 2009 and received training in Cervical cancer prevention at the University College Hospital London, in April 2010.
She has been trained in minor surgery and cryosurgery by the Royal College of GP’s London in 2012. She launched and now oversees the extensive cervical health campaign of the George Kerry Life Foundation.
She held the renowned and glamorous title of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2000 and represented Nigeria in both the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants. She is the African youth Role Model of the year 2011 (African Youth Society) and a Fellow of ?The Emblem of Africa? (African Youth Society). She is a member of the West African College of Physicians, Public Health Faculty.
Ms Rachael Kerry (Board Member)
Rachael is an astute business consultant with many years of experience in sales, marketing, business development and relationship management, spanning financial services, retail and Information technology. Her core expertise is in new entry market strategies for International businesses operating in emerging markets.
Rachael has a Bsc degree in actuarial science from the University of Lagos as well as a masters degree in International business from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen Scotland.
She is a management member of the chartered management Institute, United Kingdom and has attended many business and management courses locally and internationally.
Besides work, Rachael loves to travel, cook, attend theatrical events and volunteer in charitable pursuits.
Mr. Akinmolu Opeodu (Board Member)
He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants UK and Chairman Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc.
He is presently the Managing Director of VT Leasing Limited (a pioneering equipment leasing company in Nigeria), and a Director of Multinational Technologies Limited (an oil service company). With a background in finance and insurance, he sits on the Board of several other reputable companies
Miss Chidinma Nwigwe (Manager)
Chidinma is a graduate of Environmental Science and Management from the University of Wolverhampton, UK, she also has an MBA from Birmingham City University, UK.
She has gained valuable experience and has portrayed exemplified passion and commitment to several causes including projects under the George Kerry Life Foundation umbrella. Due to this, she rose through the ranks at George Kerry Life Foundation.
Chidinma currently serves as Manager at George Kerry Life Foundation. She oversees interactions with the officials of the Government and other policy influencing agencies that work in with George Kerry Life Foundation.
Dr Uzoamaka Igwilo (Cervical health campaign manager)
She is a young resourceful Medical Doctor with a passion and flare for public health awareness creation.
She was Head of programmes for the National Cervical cancer Prevention Programme and is presently Campaign Manager of the cervical health Campaign for George Kerry Life Foundation.
She is also a senior registrar at the department of community medicine, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Lagos.
Dr Cynthia Ebie (Head – Donor relations)
She is a Medical Doctor who gained her bachelor degree in Medicine and surgery from the college of medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL), Nigeria in 2008.
She heads several public health programmes in the local community of Lekki, Lagos, using the Primary Health care centers as a channel to disperse cervical health awareness.
She is a registrar at the department of Internal medicine, Lagos University teaching hospital Idi-Araba, Lagos.
She is a philanthropist and co-producer of an annual youth empowerment awards “Grind Awards”
